Dr CHIN Man-pan

Dr Chin has been deeply engaged in volunteering before he began his undergraduate studies in optometry. He served as the President of the Hong Kong Youth Volunteer Association during this time. His passion for helping others never waned even when he pursued his PhD study. Instead, he utilized his expertise in optometry and visual science to continue his volunteer work. During his PhD study, Dr Chin led undergraduate students in providing primary eye care services to remote regions of China, including Guangxi, Gansu, and Xinjiang.

Dr Chin is currently serving as the President of The Hong Kong Society of Professional Optometrists (HKSPO) to promote community-based primary eye care. Beyond his academic and professional commitments, Dr Chin has also cultivated strong collaborations with various NGOs and elderly centers to expand access to eye care services. Dr Chin has started his own optometric clinic within the community, ensuring that residents can conveniently receive professional eye care close to home. Dr Chin has seamlessly combined his specialized knowledge and skills with an unwavering commitment to serving and uplifting his community.
