The 17th Hong Kong International Optometric Symposium (HKIOS), attracting over 540 attendees, was successfully held on 7 November 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the theme “Advancements in Optometric Specialties”.

Jointly organized by the School of Optometry, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the Hong Kong Optometric Association (HKOA), the HKIOS was certified by the Council on Optometric Practitioner Education (COPE) for the first time this year. During the conference, 6 distinguished speakers from the USA, New Zealand, Malaysia, the mainland China and Hong Kong shared their insights in research and practise insights with the participants.
