JASCO CPL-300 Circularly Polarized Luminescence Spectrometer
Circularly Polarized Luminescence (CPL) spectroscopy is a powerful technique for studying the stereochemical, conformational, and three-dimensional structures of chiral molecules and materials in the excited state. CPL is a luminescence phenomenon that provides the differential emission intensities of right- and left-circularly polarized light when a chiral molecule is excited by unpolarized light. Thus, CPL spectroscopy can provide information on the excited states properties of the chiral molecule. Together with the electronic ground states information of the molecule provided by Circular Dichroism (CD) spectroscopy, structural information of the molecule can be disclosed.
