SMART Mobility - Social Innovation Inventor – Design Competition 2022/23, jointly organized by the World Green Organisation (WGO) and the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, concluded with a successful awards ceremony. The event celebrated the innovative ideas and designs proposed by secondary and tertiary students in the field of smart mobility.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from several secondary schools and tertiary institutions. Secondary school students were challenged to design an intelligent charging station for the artificial island in Chek Lap Kok, while tertiary students were tasked with designing a public transportation interchange and proposing a comprehensive plan for an intelligent and green transportation network.
After a rigorous selection process, the champions in the secondary school and tertiary student categories were announced. The team from Diocesan Boys' School emerged victorious in the secondary school category, showcasing their remarkable talent and innovative thinking. In the tertiary student category, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education secured the top position, impressing the judges with their comprehensive plan for an intelligent and sustainable transportation network.
Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering expressed its hope that this competition would inspire students to develop cutting-edge designs and ideas for implementing zero-carbon transportation solutions. The competition aimed to encourage the younger generation to actively contribute to the development of a sustainable and eco-friendly transportation system.
