The WIE programme provided me the chance to apply the theories and concepts from the lectures into real world. As a business student. It is very important for us to equip ourselves with hand on experience especially for marketing and management, the concepts from lectures will only be the concepts without actual application. The WIE programme offered me a chance to leave the classroom and learn on the job and apply those theories we learnt and applied them into the field of human resources management.
Living in Hangzhou for 6 weeks during the internship also enable me to immerse in the Mainland culture which is new and unique to me. One of the major difference in our culture is the way we tackle E-commerce. In mainland, e-commerce is something everyone cannot live without. People often believe one can live without a wallet, however nobody can live without a smartphone installed with mobile payment apps together with a power bank. Mobile payment apps bring people conveniences on all aspect of life, including from finding a taxi on the street, paying the bills and buying takeaway meals with a touch on the screen. It is definitely a business concept we should embrace in Hong Kong .
