Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) Conference and Exhibition was held online again from 27 March to 31 March 2022, under the theme of "Brave New Realities for Higher Education in the Asia Pacific".
This virtual event provided a platform for international educators from across the globe to the Asia-Pacific region to network and learn about new developments in international education. PolyU was represented by Global Engagement Office (GEO).
On 29 March 2022, VP(SGA) Professor Ben Young and
DoGE Professor Geoffrey Shen provided an update on Hong Kong's situation
in the Concurrent Session: Regional Reports - Japan, South Korea
and Hong Kong, followed by a live Q&A session joined by Professor
Shen. During this five-day event, GEO has also engaged with a number of
reputable universities around the world, including
- KU Leuven, Belgium
- The University of British Columbia, Canada
- University of Bologna, Italy
- Korea University, Republic of Korea
- University of Barcelona, Spain
- University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, Switzerland
- The University of California, Davis, USA
The APAIE platform provided an excellent networking opportunity for PolyU to explore collaboration with new partners and to maintain relationship with existing ones.
