The second PolyU flagship Research Student Conference (PRSC 2024) organised by the Graduate School on 29-30 August, successfully showcased innovative research by RPg students and undergraduate researchers. With around 300 presentations across various disciplines and over 500 attendees, the conference fostered valuable networking within the PolyU research community.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Cao Jiannong, Dean of Graduate School, outlined PRSC 2024’s goal of nurturing aspiring researchers through idea exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. Professor Christopher Chao, Vice President (Research and Innovation), emphasised the conference as a platform for equipping participants with skills for innovative research and leadership in specialised areas to advance knowledge and better society.
The two-day conference featured keynote presentations, a panel discussion, an industry forum, parallel sessions and networking opportunities. The conference banquet included the Best Paper Award presentation, with winners congratulated by Technical Programme Committee Co-chairs and representatives from the award sponsor, China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec). PRSC 2024 highlighted current research topics and inspired discussions to ignite research passion and enhance the student learning experience.
