Taught Postgraduate Programme
Students are required to attend the 3-hour e-learning lecture and spend 3 hours of self-study on National Education. 20 lecture notes covering the following content will be distributed to the students.
- The Modern Chinese History and the Restoration of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China in 1997
- The Constitution
- The Hong Kong Basic Law
- The Hong Kong National Security Law
- Students are required to pass an assessment that allows for multiple attempts. They have to take a test with 10 multiple-choice questions and must attain a minimum score of 8/10 to get a passing grade. Attainment of a “Pass” is a graduation requirement. Students should pass the e-learning module in their first year of studies and take the 3-hour e-learning module on Blackboard.
- Offshore Programmes in which students do not study in Hong Kong: students are NOT required to take the English or Chinese online module on “Understanding China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region‚ P.R.C.”
- Programmes in which Chinese is primarily used as the medium of instruction: students taking these programmes are required to take the Chinese version of the online module on “Understanding China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region‚ P.R.C.”, the 3-hour self-study of the 20 notes, and pass the test.
- Exchange students are not required to take the e-learning module.
