PolyU is committed to leveraging its research prowess and knowledge transfer capabilities to boost the Nation’s economic and scientific progress. As part of this strategic initiative, we are actively establishing technology and innovation research institutes and alumni associations across key cities in the Mainland. These institutes are strategically located where PolyU’s research strengths align with local industrial and societal needs, facilitating targeted contributions to regional development.

Unveiling of PolyU-Nanjing Technology and Innovation Research Institute

PolyU and the People’s Government of the Gulou District in Nanjing celebrated the inauguration of the “PolyU-Nanjing Technology and Innovation Research Institute” on 6 July. This new institute represents a strategic initiative by PolyU to deploy its research resources more effectively and to foster enhanced bilateral exchanges in education, science, technology, and talent between Hong Kong and Nanjing.

Additionally, to deepen the integration of scientific and technological innovations with industrial advancements, the Research Institute signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with 13 entities, including Nanjing Port Group Ltd., the Eye Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, and the Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University. These MoUs are set to propel new industries, business models, and growth opportunities.

In conjunction with the inaugural ceremony, PolyU also celebrated the establishment of the Jiangsu Alumni Association with a gala dinner attended by over 300 guests.
