Dr Liu Senbiao’s PhD research at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2020-2023) centred on applying artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance sustainable textile fading processes. Focusing on plasma and laser treatments for cotton fabrics, he developed advanced data-driven predictive models, achieving over 90% accuracy in predicting fading effects. His AI-driven tools optimise treatment parameters, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and minimizing environmental impact in textile production. This interdisciplinary work bridges AI and textile science, advancing sustainable manufacturing practices.
