Biography

Dr Chen received her PhD degree in Ophthalmology from the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, the Sun Yat-sen University in 2017. Her doctoral research focused on predicting myopia and high myopia development in children. Since 2017, she has been providing clinical services as an ophthalmologist in China. Throughout these years, she has been deeply involved in investigating issues related to myopia in children. She has gained extensive experience in conducting cohort studies and clinical trials. Dr Chen has also actively participated in teaching Ophthalmology to Master's and undergraduate students. In 2023, she joined the School of Optometry of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University as Research Assistant Professor.

Research Overview

Dr Chen’s main research interests include risk prediction for myopia, ocular development, and myopia control. Her work has yielded several of peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals, including Ophthalmology and JAMA Ophthalmology.
