A Comprehensive Landscape of Tear Fluid Proteomics Across Diverse Human Diseases
Synopsis
Tear fluid has emerged as a promising non-invasive biosample for biomarker discovery in various human diseases. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of tear fluid proteomics across diverse pathological conditions, including diabetic retinopathy (DR), diabetic macular edema (DME), and breast cancer etc.. Using advanced proteomic techniques, we conducted large-scale protein profiling of tear samples from healthy individuals and patients diagnosed with these diseases. This study aims to identify common and disease-specific biomarkers that may serve as valuable diagnostic indicators. The proteomic signatures elucidated in this study will enhance our understanding of the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms associated with these conditions. Furthermore, we aim to establish an online resource cataloging human tear proteins, which will facilitate future research and aid clinicians in the development of innovative diagnostic tools.
