Student Message

I am currently a Year Three student enrolled in the BSc (Hons) in Property Management programme. So far, I have acquired knowledge in subjects such as property law, management, accounting and property valuation. I have also had many opportunities to develop my practical skills by engaging in several academic projects. BRE also offered me a chance to be a summer intern at Kai Shing Management Services, a property management company, where I gained valuable experience in managing both residential buildings and shopping malls. I have also participated in extracurricular activities such as being a Student Helper at BRE, an International Student Ambassador and a Peer Mentor, all of which have helped me become a responsible professional who pays attention to detail. I feel very fortunate to be studying at BRE, as it is giving me both theoretical and practical ways to acquire knowledge about property management.

Leung Shuk Man, Daisy

Studying property management at BRE was an amazing and fruitful experience thanks to the comprehensive coverage, quality teaching and practical training. I chose property management without hesitation once I knew it would give me a promising career and lots of opportunities to develop lifelong skills. Participation in the Work-Integrated Education programme equipped me with practical property management tools and personal skills for tackling building defects and handling customers’ enquiries, even before graduation. I am also thankful to BRE for offering me the chance to be an exchange student in Australia, which was a very memorable experience. Now, having beaten out over 1,900 candidates, I am very fortunate to be a management trainee at the Link, and I believe that my training at BRE will help me take on valuable challenges here.

Tam Chung Yin, Ivy

I am glad to be a graduate of BRE. I enjoyed and learned a lot in the three years of my university life. The knowledge that I gained in the Property Management programme helped me to understand current real-estate market practices and operations, which has given me a competitive edge over those without a similar background. Subjects such as property law, development and control law, property management practice, real estate marketing, property management and real estate economics have been very useful in my career. BRE also provided extracurricular activities that broadened my horizons. During Year Two, I went to Australia as a participant in the Student Exchange Programme. I not only improved my English, but also widened my international perspective. I am glad that BRE gave me so many chances to represent it in competitions and activities, such as the Harmonised Neighbourhood – Sustainable Building Design Competition organised by the government, in which my team reached the Merit level. With the Department’s support I also participated in the volunteer rebuilding work in Sichuan. All of these activities have enhanced my ability to work as part of a team while strengthening my interpersonal skills.
