宗旨及特色

本四年全日制组合课程精心设计,旨在培育未来在金融分析、金融科技及应用数学领域的精英。课程通过强化数学与统计基础,结合计算机科学的程序设计技能,特别注重跨学科知识在投资与金融领域的应用,为学生在快速演变的数字金融界或创新的学术研究奠定坚实基础。课程涵盖三大专业方向:

  • 应用数学(荣誉)理学士:深入教授微分方程、统计分析、计算方法、数学建模、优化理论、运筹学及金融数学等课程,适合有志于深造或在多领域发展的学生。
  • 投资科学及金融分析(荣誉)理学士:注重数据与数学模型在金融分析与投资决策中的战略应用,旨在培养具备强大量化分析、批判性思维及沟通技巧的专业人士,为他们在投资银行、基金管理和金融产品设计等领域的职业生涯奠定基础。

就业前景

本组合课程的毕业生出路广泛,就业前景优良。不少毕业生进入投资银行、量化金融、金融科技、风险管理、金融产品开发与定价、基金管理等领域,以及从事电信、信息技术、市场研究和制药等其他领域的工作。此外,不少毕业生还负笈海外进修,曾到牛津大学、剑桥大学、耶鲁大学、哥伦比亚大学等著名学府攻读硕士课程。对于旨在进一步深造或跨领域发展的学生而言,应用数学将赋予他们坚实的根基,其所涵盖的微分方程、统计分析、计算技术、数学建模、最优化理论、运筹学以及金融数学等领域的课程,将成为毕业生未来学术和职业生涯的坚固基石。

 

专业认可

投资科学及金融分析(荣誉)理学士课程内容涵盖多个专业团体的专业资格评核条件,包括

  • 特许金融分析师 (CFA) 协会*
  • 香港证券及投资学会(HKSI)^
  • 香港统计学会(HKSS)(尚待批准)
  • 皇家统计学会(尚待批准)

毕业生可申请豁免有关专业资格评核的部分要求,可更快获取相关专业资格。

 

*「投资科学及金融分析(荣誉)理学士」课程设计涵盖「特许金融分析师考试」的大部份范围,并已获得特许金融分析师协会(CFA Institute)认证大学毕业课程资格,就读本课程的同学将来参加特许金融分析师考试更可申请其奖学金。

 

^持有经济/金融或相关学位资格的毕业生,只需在证券及期货从业员资格考试卷一考取合格成绩便可申请牌照,并可豁免卷七及八。学生须向香港证券及投资学会递交申请,在指定试卷中取得满意成绩后将获考虑豁免。详情请浏览此网址

课程结构

本组合课程的所有学生将在一年级修读一系列计算机及数学科学学院基础科目,并于二年级时选取其中一个主修课程。

 

第一年:计算机及数学科学学院的所有新生均需参与统一的第一年课程,该课程包含大学核心课程(GUR),为学生奠定广泛的知识基础。

 

第二年:学生依据个人兴趣与职业规划,选择进入三个专业方向之一进行深入学习。在继续修读系内统一课程,如Introduction to Statistics、Applied Linear Models 及 Operations Research Methods的同时,他们将开始专攻特定领域的主修课程,覆盖应用数学、投资科学及金融分析、以及量化金融及金融科技等专业内容。

 

第三年:学生将专注于完成各自主修课程。应用数学专业的学生将深入学习Real Analysis、 Differential Equations及 Complex Variables;投资科学及金融分析专业则涉及Corporate Finance、 Theory of Interest and Portfolio Analysis、 Investments、 Derivative Pricing 及 Econometrics;而量化金融及金融科技专业的课程则涵盖Introduction to Blockchain and Cyber Security、 Quantitative Finance and Financial Technology、 Computer Systems Security及Machine Learning。

 

第四年:学生将拥有高度的选课自由,可从涵盖应用数学、金融投资、统计、数据科学、计算机科学及金融科技的广泛课程中挑选,以满足个人学术兴趣和职业目标。此外,他们将执行一个专题研究,针对金融分析、量化金融、金融科技、统计学或应用数学中的特定问题进行深入研究。这个专题研究旨在综合运用所学的理论知识、专业技能和通用能力,培养解决实际问题的能力。

副主修

修读应用数学和投资科学及金融分析的学生可修读人工智能及数据分析以作为副主修课程:

 

遴选标准

修读副主修课程并非必修课程。副主修课程或有额外的遴选标准。学生成绩平均绩点必须达到2.70 或以上,并于第二学年开始前提交申请,在获得学系的批准后,才能修读副主修课程。

 

学分要求

学生需完成36学分以获得副主修学衔。对于选择人工智能及数据分析(AIDA)作为副主修的应用数学(荣誉)理学士和投资科学及金融分析(荣誉)理学士学生,其毕业所需的学分将取决于学分的双重计算 。

 

专业认可

投资科学及金融分析(荣誉)理学士学位 + 人工智能及数据分析毕业生可获得特许金融分析师 (CFA) 协会、香港统计学会(尚待批准)、皇家统计学会(尚待批准)和香港证券及投资学会的专业资格评核。

入学要求

录取标准

  • 申请人必须在应届高考获得优异的成绩,当中包括良好的英语成绩。
  • 申请人如在学术或其他非学术领域,如体育、文化艺术、领导才能及社会服务、STEM^ 等不同范畴获卓越表现,可透过参与「3D综合评估入学计划」或「德艺计划」获得优先面试选拔资格。通过面试的申请人可享有本科入学政策的优惠待遇。请按此了解详情。

I am a graduate of the Investment Science and Finance Analytics (ISFA) programme. The course has given me a solid foundation in both finance and mathematics. Besides the theoretical aspects, my major has instilled in me a data-driven mindset, enabling me to analyse financial trends and make informed decisions. This knowledge has been instrumental in my career in the banking industry. As a management trainee at The Bank of East Asia, I have been able to utilise the skills gained from ISFA to tackle complex financial modelling and statistical tasks. Additionally, ISFA has fostered my understanding of the importance of digital transformation in the financial industry, allowing me to navigate the evolving landscape with confidence.

I chose the Investment Science and Finance Analytics (ISFA) programme due to its strong emphasis on mathematics and statistics. This programme provided training in fundamental mathematical concepts such as calculus, linear algebra, probability, and statistics. These have equipped me with the practical quantitative skills that are invaluable for my future studies and career. Moreover, ISFA offers a diverse range of courses in finance and computer science, as well as internship and research opportunities which have helped me establish a solid foundation of knowledge and skills in these areas.
