Research Postgraduate Programme

CBS offers supervision for the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) by research. The major research areas are: applied Chinese studies, bilingual communication and education, Chinese linguistics, and translation studies. Research students pursue a specific aspect of a subject in depth under the supervision of an academic staff with similar research interests.

The programme aims to provide rigorous training to students who aspire to become researchers or scholars capable of conducting original research independently, and to produce research findings that are significant within their fields of specialization.
