In a cold rainy morning, some 4,600 PolyU runners set a new record together during this year’s Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon and won the Championship of the “Most Supportive Group Award” for the seventh consecutive year. Also, students Rainbow Mak (School of Hotel and Tourism Management) and Shuen Chun-kit (Department of Building and Real Estate) were named the Champion of the 10KM Challenge Women’s Junior Race and the 2nd-runner-up of the Half Marathon Men’s Junior Race respectively.
Sustaining last year’s momentum, the PolyU running team once again partnered with the social enterprise FOODSPORT to convert runners’ calories burnt during the run into food units that were donated to those in need through the food bank Feeding Hong Kong.
Special thanks are due to the sponsors – belif, Nike, Swiss Miss and Tao Ti in support of the University’s participation in this event. Details>>
