Recently, the Confucius Institute of Hong Kong at PolyU and Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna jointly organised the “Virtual Reconstruction of Yuanmingyuan – International Symposium cum Exhibition”. Created by the Austrian artist Barbara Salaun, a series of ten paintings etched based on virtual images of Yuanmingyuan were showcased. At the international symposium, scholars shared their insights on the protection of Yuanmingyuan and other cultural heritage.
