Vestel, being recognized as a world-renowned technology giant, is a multi-industry manufacturer operates in electronics, household appliances, mobile technologies and LED lighting. I admire the general manager Mr. Ulas Ozcan, who is also my mentor in the “INSPIRE” Mentoring Programme. In the several meetings with him, I learned from him on how to achieve my goals and constantly empower myself. I will follow his example and try to become a lifelong learner.
Mr. Ulas provided me with not only invaluable personal advice for my first internship, but also an opportunity to get a glimpse of his work ethics and company philosophy. For example, he kindly offered me to join the sourcing team to get a holistic understanding about the industry nature and company culture. I have made major improvements because the work involved was actually beyond my knowledge and comfort zone. Through researching on plastic raw materials, I learned how to judge the price changing trend of mass commodities with the concept of future goods and learned the related knowledge of supply chain analysis. In the future career development, I will also consider commercial industry as a potential career path.
