As a year one student, Instead of choosing other summer activity, I choose to apply for internship as I wanted to know more about the job nature of hotel and hospitality industry. I received the opportunity to work in Chaptel Hotel, HangZhou, a unique luxury hotel adjacent to the West Lake.
At the beginning, I know little about hotel operation. I need to learn all things from the baisc. It was quite challenging for me. 1 year ago, I was just a high school student who only think about completing public examination. However, since I decided to work as intern, I would try my best to adapt to new environment and pick up new skills in the shortest time possible. I can still remember the first time when I helped the customers to complete check in procedure, the first time I brought them to their room alone and the first time settled customers complain. Looking back to this period, I found myself reaping a lot. Originally, I thought service is to do my best to meet the needs of customers. However, after the internship, I know the “service” word not only have this meaning but means meeting the needs of guests in the premise of ensuring the interests of the hotel.
