I had my internship at Shanghai Electric. As its name shows, the company focuses on providing solution to energy generation. I was assigned to work at the branch of SEC: Shanghai Electric Wind Power.
After greeting with my supervisor and colleagues, my position was technical engineer with the following duties: firstly, participating in the workshop with R&D company from Denmark; secondly, joining the test validation project of SSB company’s new electric motor pitch system. Meanwhile, I was also responsible for translating documents of product requirement specification (PRS) related to the test equipment for the wind generation system from Siemens Wind Power (SWP).
This 6-week internship taught me that the key to survive in the workplace was always keeping yourself enthusiastic to your work and unknown. Bearing this in mind, you can go beyond yourself in the everyday work. Another thing I learnt was that it is important to build up good relationship with colleagues and ask for work initiatively if you want to be entrusted with crucial mission by your employer.
