My internship was at the Water Resources Protection Authority, a sub-department of Taihu Basin Authority of Ministry of Water Resources. My main responsibilities were to exercise administrative responsibilities in relation to the protection of water resources as well as the prevention and control of water pollution in river basins.
After each field investigation of water hyacinth growth, we were required to write a report with the river location included. Yet, some of the rivers were not recorded on the map, so I had to search for their detailed addresses in order to complete the reports on time.
During this training, not only that I had the opportunities to be exposed to different types of tasks, but my understanding of workplace operations was deepened. It also broadened my horizon and had influence on my future career planning as I realized there are more than one career choices.
