We - Update

The University has established several Mainland Research Institutes in locations such as Jinjiang, Nanjing, and Zhongshan to enhance industry-academia-research collaborations. The guideline details key health and safety considerations for each stage of developing a new Mainland Research Institute, from planning and establishment to design, construction, completion, and operation.

To assist faculties in planning new research institutes, we have developed a comprehensive guideline that outlines key health and safety considerations at various stages, from planning, establishment, design, and construction to completion and operation. This guideline was formulated in consultation with various units and has been presented to the University’s Central Management Team, who have expressed their support.

It is essential for anyone planning a new Mainland Research Institute to consult this guideline, available HERE. The guideline serves as a valuable reference for navigating mainland environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies; it also addresses a wide array of topics, ranging from site selection, environmental impact assessments, and hazardous waste agreements to special equipment licenses and occupational hygiene, guiding you through the planning and application processes.

Faculties are also encouraged to engage with the HSO and the Campus Development Office (CDO) throughout the processes for advice and support.
