Visit to the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre

In July 2024, we organized a staff visit to the Chemical Waste Treatment Centre (CWTC) in Tsing Yi. During this half-day tour, participants explored various treatment plants and operational facilities, including the incinerator and the mercury recovery treatment system. The tour also included a walkthrough of the laboratories where waste analysis and classification are conducted, as well as visits to the heat recovery facilities, the large-scale clinic, chemical waste storage areas, and the CWTC Control Centre.

Participants found the visit highly informative, as it provided a comprehensive overview of the CWTC’s capabilities and innovative approaches to waste treatment. They also gained valuable insights into the complexities and significance of effective waste management systems.
