PolyU has taken a major step towards broadening collaboration with top tier universities in the United Kingdom. A delegation led by Deputy President and Provost Prof. Wing-tak Wong recently visited several leading universities in the UK to deepen academic partnerships.

The delegation included Dean of Engineering Prof. HC Man and Head of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology Prof. Larry Chow. Between 6 and 8 November, they visited Imperial College London, University of Warwick, Loughborough University and University of Oxford.

At meetings during the visit, both sides explored further cooperation in undergraduate-level and doctoral-level dual degree programmes. They also identified research initiatives of mutual interest and discussed strengthening research and educational collaboration. This includes creating research opportunities for final-year PolyU undergraduates and researcher exchanges between the universities.

PolyU already maintains a wide range of partnerships with UK institutions, from student exchanges to joint programmes to collaborative research labs. The University currently has over 50 active academic collaboration agreements with the top 100 UK universities. These include Durham University, Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, University of Birmingham, University of Glasgow, University of Leeds and University of Warwick.

The recent visit reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to further develop connections with leading universities worldwide. By deepening ties with international institutions, PolyU aims to create more global opportunities for its students and faculty through impactful collaboration.
