PolyU and the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) jointly organised the Stories of China Lecture on “Dunhuang and the Palace Museum: The Fruits of Exchange and Mutual Learning among Cultures”. The lecture was presented by Dr Wang Xudong, Director of The Palace Museum.

 

Held on campus at the Jockey Club Auditorium, close to 600 guests including PolyU staff, students and alumni attended the inspiring lecture. Dr Wang discussed the formation, development and preservation of important sites like Dunhuang and the Forbidden City. He emphasised the importance of embracing cultural heritage with confidence and fostering open-minded appreciation of human civilisation.

 

By co-organising the lecture, PolyU joined the HKPM in striving to cultivate cultural influence globally and pass invaluable traditions to new generations. The event highlighted the University’s commitment to promoting understanding of Chinese history and culture.
