The annual PolyU Fashion Show, a highly anticipated event on Hong Kong's fashion calendar, took centre stage at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in June, leaving attendees captivated and inspired. The event showcased 40 exceptional designs from emerging talents, marking a significant infusion of fresh energy into the local fashion landscape with their distinctive styles, imaginative creations, and modern fashion aesthetics.

Organised by PolyU’s School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT), this year’s Show attracted nearly 1,500 guests and over 45,000 global viewers through live streams. It provided a vibrant platform for students to bring their unique fashion perspectives to the runway. The Show featured 30 new collections from recent graduates of the BA (Hons) Scheme in Fashion and Textiles programme, specialising in fashion design, knitwear design, intimate apparel and activewear design. Additionally, graduates of the MA in Fashion and Textile Design programme showcased ten cutting-edge masterpieces, further impressing the audience.

The Show also served as an occasion to honour exceptional talents, with seven awards and scholarships presented to students for their outstanding works. A panel of esteemed judges from the fashion industry and related sectors evaluated the entries, offering students invaluable exposure to industry trends and networking opportunities to advance their careers. Professor Erin Cho, Dean of SFT, expressed her support for her students: “It is truly inspiring to witness these aspiring individuals present their innovative ideas to the world, captivate the attention of industry professionals, and ignite inspiration for their future careers.”

SFT is globally recognised for its excellence in fashion and textiles education. It is committed to establishing a thriving creative community that cultivates students with a global perspective and encourages innovative ways of thinking, empowering young talent to flourish as outstanding designers and visionary leaders in the contemporary fashion industry. The annual PolyU Fashion Show stands as a testament to SFT’s remarkable young talents.
