PolyU reinforced its position as a global leader in higher education after surging ahead in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2025. It achieved outstanding results in five academic disciplines in the list which covers the world’s top 100 universities.
Business & Economics and Engineering led the charge, with both breaking into the Global Top 50 Subjects and securing 37th and 41st positions respectively. The University’s commitment to excellence was further reflected in Social Sciences (68th), Computer Science (74th), and Physical Sciences, which marked its debut in the Global Top 100 by taking 97th place.
The impressive performance extends across the University’s broader academic spectrum, with subjects in Arts & Humanities, Medical & Health and Life Sciences also listed in the Rankings. These achievements demonstrate PolyU’s comprehensive strength and successful pursuit of academic excellence across multiple disciplines.
The THE World University Rankings by Subject assess universities across 11 disciplines based on five core pillars: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, International Outlook and Industry.
