The Broad Discipline Scheme in Humanities gives students the time and flexibility to explore various fields offered by the Faculty of Humanities. In Year One, which is common to all five Majors, students can get a taste of the subjects offered before enrolling in one of the following Majors:

  • BA(Hons) in Chinese History and Culture (JS3320) 
  • BA(Hons) in English and Applied Linguistics (JS3240) 
  • BSc(Hons) in Language Sciences and Analytics (under JS3241) 
  • BA(Hons) in Linguistics and Translation (under JS3241) 
  • BSc(Hons) in Speech Therapy (JS3242)

All admitted students will follow a Common Year One curriculum. After their first year of study, students can gain entry into one of five Majors offered by the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies (CBS), the Department of Chinese History and Culture (CHC), and the Department of English and Communication (ENGL), through a ranking assessment based on a combination of entrance qualification score, Year One GPA, and interview performance.

Curriculum

Secondary Major Details

Some of our programmes offer the opportunity to pursue a Secondary Major (Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA)), allowing students to further broaden their academic and career horizons. 

 

The option of a Secondary Major in AI and Data Analytics is available to students enrolled in the BA(Hons) in Linguistics and Translation, the BSc(Hons) in Language Sciences and Analytics, and the BA(Hons) in English and Applied Linguistics.
