The BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing and AI (電⼦計算及人工智能(榮譽)理學⼠組合課程) comprises the following awards:
BSc (Hons) in Computer Science [計算機科學(榮譽)理學士學位]; and
BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems [企業信息管理(榮譽)理學士學位].
Students will be admitted to either one of the 2 specialisms: Computer Science or Enterprise Information Systems.

Programme Aims
The BSc (Hons) Scheme in Computing and AI comprises the following awards:

The BSc (Hons) in Computer Science aims to equip graduates with solid computing foundations in areas such as programming, computational thinking, data structure and algorithms to develop professional computer systems and software. Students develop strong problem-solving abilities and become highly competent in software development for virtually all sectors.

The BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems aims to provide graduates with a good balance of business and technical background. Graduates develop strong competence in investigating business systems, identifying options for improving those systems and bridging the needs of business with the use of IT. They also gain strong abilities to develop information systems and manage business projects in the commercial sector.

Applied and practical, both in content and teaching methodology.

Master's degree: the Department provides articulation to students for admission into the Master's programme it offers. They can receive the Master's degree with one extra year of study.

BSc (Hons) in Computer Science:

Features a rich set of Electives that cover real-life applications, such as Biometrics, Data Mining, Multimedia, E-Commerce, Workflow, Logistics, Finance and Mobile Computing.

Students with backgrounds in Arts, Science or Business can apply.
BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems:

A balanced curriculum that covers technology, management and business, with strong emphasis on computing techniques and applications, and software design and development skills in the business sector.

Professional Recognition
The programmes have been granted full accreditation by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).
Graduates of all programmes can become members of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Those with appropriate work experience can become professional members of the ACM Hong Kong Chapter (HK Chapter) and enjoy the right to vote for the LEGCO Technology and Innovation functional constituency representative. Graduates can also join the IEEE Hong Kong Section Computer Society Chapter.
Career Prospects
BSc (Hons) in Computer Science graduates can become programmers, system developers and software engineers, sales engineers or webmasters. Our graduates find employment opportunities in such sectors as the government, software houses, e-commerce, banking, finance, public facilities and freight forwarding.
BSc (Hons) in Enterprise Information Systems graduates can take up such technical positions as programmers, system analysts, system developers, software engineers and system administrators, and less technical positions including technical sales and sales engineers, project managers, web administrators and web services designers.
Students are admitted to the senior year of the 4-year degree programme. They must complete all of the following requirements for graduation.
General University Requirements (9 credits)
a. 6 credits in Cluster-Area Requirement (CAR)
Students should not take more than 3 credits from the same cluster area. They also need to fulfil the English and Chinese reading and writing requirements. Students may apply for a waiver if they have fulfilled the English and Chinese reading and writing requirements in their previous studies.
b. 3 credits in Service-Learning
c. Essential Components of General Education (a non-credit bearing subject)
Students need to complete a non-credit-bearing requirement in General Education via e-modules. The Essential Components of General Education includes four modules namely Academic Integrity, AI and Data Analytics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and National Education.
Remarks: Students not meeting the equivalent standard of the Undergraduate Degree Language Communication Requirements (LCR) based on their previous studies in AD/HD programmes and their academic performance will be required to take additional credits (6 in English and 3 in Chinese) on top of the programme's normal credit requirements.
Core Subjects and Electives (51 credits)
Students are required to opt for a specified major when they are admitted to the programme.
Capstone Project (6 credits)
Work-Integrated Education
To graduate, every student must complete at least 312 hours of Work-Integrated Education (WIE). The department has developed opportunities for students to work in accounting or financial firms during summer in Hong Kong or the Chinese mainland. These, and other forms of work experience, can count towards the WIE requirement.
