Sector-Wide Recognition of PolyU’s Teaching Excellence
PolyU’s teaching excellence is well recognised among UGC-funded universities, as shown by the commendations that PolyU received from the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) quality audits in recent years.
QAC Quality Audits in 2018
PolyU was commended highly in its governance, management and quality assurance of its sub-degree programmes by the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) in the third round of quality audits conducted in 2018. The Audit Panel concludes that PolyU's sub-degree provision reflects its strategic priorities and mission. The University also consistently adheres to its QA policies and procedures in operating its sub-degree programmes. The current practices in all dimensions attest to the excellence in operation of the University.
The Panel found
- PolyU's personal and career development services for students "comprehensive" and helpful for students to adopt a positive attitude towards their study and careers, broaden their horizons, and develop as whole persons;
- Sub-degree programmes students being well supported by high-quality physical learning and e-learning environments which enrich their academic experience; and
- Students being appreciative of their programmes' vocational relevance, the networking opportunities afforded, and skills development that will help them to progress within their chosen professions.

QAC Quality Audits in in 2016
PolyU takes pride in learning the second round of quality audits conducted by the QAC in 2016 found good practices worthy of commendations in all the audit areas and on the two audit themes – Enhancing the student learning experience and Global engagements: strategies and current developments.
PolyU was highly commended by its
- effective framework in place for Quality Enhancement (QE) that is systematically monitored, internally reviewed and externally benchmarked;
- innovative undergraduate curriculum which focuses on academic relevance, real-world experience, professional practice and international understanding and experience, and makes service-learning and work-integrated education mandatory; and
- a proactive and creative approach to global engagements, which operates effectively with a strategic focus on internationalization and strategies to help teaching staff, non-academic professional support staff and students embrace, adopt and implement the theme within both the core and co-curriculum.
