On 6 April 2025, the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team made their debut at the National Flag-Raising Competition, organised by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association at the Youth Development and National Education Base in Tsing Yi. This significant event featured 46 teams and over 300 participants from various universities, institutions, secondary schools, and primary schools.
Drawing on their extensive experience from regular flag-raising training, the PolyU Student Flag-Raising team executed the ceremony with standardised Chinese marching techniques, showcasing exceptional discipline, teamwork, and profound respect for the national flag.
Participating for the first time, this experience enhanced the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team’s understanding of the national flag and anthem, as well as the history and culture of our motherland. It strengthened their national pride and identity, reinforcing their commitment to national security. Furthermore, the competition fostered a sense of camaraderie among team members. This inaugural participation not only highlighted the PolyU Student Flag-Raising Team’s dedication but also empowered them to promote the values of patriotism and national security within the PolyU community.
