From time to time, there are scholarships open for application by students or, the candidates of which are nominated by Dean/Head of faculties or academic departments. Please click here for the schedule of inviting application/nomination for details.

The following scholarships are open for application. Unless otherwise specified, the applicants must be currently pursuing a full-time undergraduate programme leading to PolyU award (i.e. HKCC, SPEED, PolyU inbound exchange students are not eligible). Kindly note that the Donors/PolyU reserve(s) the right to accept/decline any application or withdraw the scholarship(s) at any time (e.g. when there is no deserving candidate, in case of unforeseen circumstance, etc.). Please read the information sheet of individual scholarship carefully before submitting the application form. In case of any dispute/disagreement, the decision of the Donors/PolyU shall be final.

Scholarships Open for Application

An information session for the HSBC Scholarship Programmes & Innovation and Technology Scholarship will be held on 3 November 2025 (Monday) with details below. Representatives from HSBC and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG), together with scholarship recipient(s) will attend the session to share valuable advices to potential applicants.

Information Session for HSBC Scholarships 2025/26 & Innovation Technology Scholarship 2026

Content:

HSBC and HKFYG’s representatives will introduce the HSBC Scholarship Programmes and give valuable advices to potential applicants.

  • HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship 2025/26
  • HSBC Global Scholarship 2026/27
  • Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026
 Eligibility: Local (i.e. permanent residents with right of abode in Hong Kong) full-time government-funded undergraduate degree students
 Application Method: Scholarship will be open for nomination by Faculties/Academic Departments in November / early December 2025.  Interested students should keep an eye on the announcement from their Faculty/Academic Department.
Brief Information on the Scholarships:

The following scholarship information is for reference only and subject to final confirmation by the Donor:

a)  HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship 2025/26

  • Each scholarship valued at HK$50,000
  • Open for nomination by Academic Departments
  • LOCAL* full-time government-funded undergraduate degree students of all disciplines with a CGPA of 3.7 by end of Semester 1 of 2025/26 are eligible.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong financial needs.

 b)  HSBC Social Work Scholarship 2025/26

  • Each scholarship valued at HK$25,000
  • Nomination by Department of Applied Social Sciences
  • LOCAL* full-time government-funded undergraduate degree students who are enrolled in the Social Work programme and have a CGPA of 3.3 by end of Semester 1 of 2025/26 are eligible.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong financial needs.

 c)  HSBC Global Scholarship 2026/27

  • Each scholarship valued at up to HK$300,000, to support recipients to study abroad for one semester or one academic year in 2026/27
  • Open for nomination by Faculties/Schools
  • LOCAL* non-final year full-time government-funded undergraduate degree students of all disciplines with a CGPA of 3.7 by end of Semester 1 of 2025/26 are eligible to apply. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong financial needs.

d)  Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2026

  • Each scholarship valued at up to HK$150,000, to support recipients to attach to one or more overseas/Mainland universities/institutions between 1 June 2026 and 31 July 2027
  • Open for nomination by academic departments
  • LOCAL* non-final year full-time government-funded undergraduate degree students of all disciplines with a CGPA of 3.0 by end of Semester 1 of 2025/26 and fulfilled the English Test requirement are eligible to apply. 
  • Applicants must demonstrate passion and aspiration in one of the following 6 InnoTech areas: ‘Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Engineering’, ‘Artificial Intelligence and Robotics’, ‘Business and Financial Technology’, ‘Life and Health Technology’, 'Sustainability and Green Technology’,  and ‘Multi-disciplinary Technology and Others’.

* All applicants must be Hong Kong permanent residents with the right of abode in Hong Kong.

 


The Hong Kong Jockey Club Compassionate Leader Scholarship 2025/26 – Online Information Session by HKJC

(for LOCAL students admitted into a 4 or 5-year full-time government-funded undergraduate degree programme in the 2025/26 academic year)

You are cordially invited to an online briefing session about The Hong Kong Jockey Club Compassionate Leader Scholarship (“the Compassionate Leader Scholarship”).
 
This year, HKJC is offering up to 27 scholarships for competition by first-year local undergraduate degree students from nine local tertiary institutions in the 2025/26 academic year. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Compassionate Leader Scholarship ("the Compassionate Leader Scholarship") covers (1) full tuition fees, academic and living allowance for the entire normative duration of study towards an undergraduate degree programme, (2) overseas learning subsidies, and (3) an opportunitiy to participate in a leadership programme tailored for JC Scholars.

  • Full-time LOCAL undergraduate students who are admitted into a 4 or 5-year government-funded degree programme in the 2025/26 academic year, pursuing their first undergraduate degree (i.e. Local Year 1 students with student ID number starting with “25”. Senior-year intake students are NOT eligible.);
  • Have the right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong, or have entered Hong Kong on One-way Permits;
  • Have completed their senior secondary education in Hong Kong;

The Scholarship will be open for application by PolyU students via Student Affairs Office (SAO) in November 2025 tentatively. Please keep an eye on this Scholarship Webpage and email sent out by SAO nearer the time.
