The WIE Kick-off Ceremony 2023, together with team-building activities and Departure Briefing sessions, successfully took place at Hotel ICON on 18 May 2023. A total of 130 students joined the event.
The student participants in the non-local summer WIE 2023 programmes administered by SAO were ready to depart for their internships in around 20 overseas countries (including Canada, Spain, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, as well as those along the Belt and Road such as New Zealand, Poland, and South Korea) and around 10 cities in Mainland China (including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Xi’an, and the Greater Bay Area).

Ir Dr T.L. Yip, Associate Dean of Students, expressed his welcome to all participants and kick-started the summer WIE 2023 in the Ceremony.
Team-building activities
Team-building activities were arranged to prepare students for the workplace by building a strong sense of team spirit, and allow them to bond with other WIE participants. Congratulations to the International Teams for winning the “Best Performance Award” and the “Best Team Award.”
Departure Briefing sessions
Departure Briefing sessions were organised to arouse the students’ awareness of the importance of safety and adaptability when working and travelling outside Hong Kong.
