"INSPIRE" Mentorship Programme 2023/24 & Annual Gathering

Careers and Placement Pursuits 01

Launched in 2020, the University-wide mentorship programme “INSPIRE” is dedicated to enriching students’ holistic experience and facilitating their all-round development. Thanks to invaluable support from role models and esteemed leaders in the robust PolyU community network, over the years the programme has consistently achieved success. To-date, the cumulative numbers of mentors and mentees have reached over 400 and 1,600 respectively.

To celebrate the programme’s continued success, the third Annual Gathering of “INSPIRE” took place on 12 January 2024. With the theme “A Journey of Discovery”, the event brought together around 260 mentors and mentees to share the inspiring discoveries made throughout their mentoring journeys over the year. During the sharing session, Mr Andy Wong, Lead of Desktop Support Service, Standard Chartered Bank
(Hong Kong) and Ms Wendy Man, Senior Human Resources Manager of a media agency emphasised the mutual learning and intergenerational understanding fostered by mentorship. They described finding immense fulfilment in witnessing the growth of their mentees who, in turn, credited their mentors’ insightful guidance and inspiration with helping them explore diverse career opportunities and broaden their perspectives.
