Held at Hotel ICON on 8 April, the High Table Dinner cum Dean of Students Talk Series brought together more than 300 students, guests, and esteemed members of the senior management team and it was a resounding success.
The evening commenced with a warm welcome remark from our president, Prof Jin-Guang Teng, followed by the speech of Mr Charles Li, the Founder and Chairman of Micro Connect, Former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited, and recipient of the PolyU Honorary Doctorate in 2023, on “Developing A More Economically Inclusive Finance Market”. Mr Li shared with our students his profound insights and invaluable guidance and the session was further elevated by a captivating classical music performance delivered by our talented violinists from the PolyU Orchestra. The event perfectly concluded with the video showcase of PolyU integration.
The dinner was graced by the presence of around 270 students, representing various departments in PolyU. 56% of the attendees were local students, while 44% were from 22 countries, reflecting PolyU's commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive academic community. This grand occasion served as an inspiring platform for students to engage with influential speakers in a fine-dining setting and immerse themselves in the captivating musical performance.
