PolyU’s dedication to impactful innovation and interdisciplinary research has earned recognition in the Times Higher Education’s inaugural Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, which placed the University in the 29th position worldwide.

 

The Times Higher Education’s Interdisciplinary Science Rankings evaluated 749 universities from 92 countries and territories through 11 metrics across three main stages: inputs, process and outputs. PolyU demonstrated particular strength in research inputs, highlighting its substantial commitment to and funding for interdisciplinary science research.

 

This commitment is exemplified through the PolyU Academy for Interdisciplinary Research (PAIR), which comprises 19 research institutes and centres. PAIR focuses on frontier areas including artificial intelligence, carbon neutrality, deep space exploration, smart cities and smart energy.

 

Looking forward, the University will keep pursuing excellence in education, research and knowledge transfer in addition to strengthening ties and cooperation with partners worldwide, thus playing an increasingly important role on the global stage of higher education.
