Student Message

As a student of Building Services Engineering (now Building Sciences and Engineering) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), I had the opportunity to learn from some of the most knowledgeable and experienced professors in the field. The curriculum was rigorous and challenging, but also extremely rewarding.

One of the highlights of my academic journey was the opportunity to work on various group system design projects with classmates from diverse backgrounds. These projects allowed us to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in class and fostered teamwork and communication skills, which will be very useful for my future career.

Aside from academic courses, the University offers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as sports clubs, workshops, and social events, providing the opportunity to meet new people and expand our horizons.

Overall, my experience at PolyU was challenging and rewarding and prepared me well for the future.

LAM Chun Kit

LEUNG Tsz Ying

I was very fortunate to choose this programme because I was able to learn from many world-class professors. The Department also has extensive professional laboratory facilities, which provided me with a high-quality learning environment and learning process. My most memorable experience was my third year internship at Sanfield (Management) Limited, a Sun Hung Kai Properties subsidiary, where I was able to put into practice the latest technologies and standards learnt in class, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM).

During my fourth year, I also had the opportunity to do a semester exchange at the National University of Singapore, which allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, broaden my horizons, and learn more about local green building designs.

After graduation, I aim to gain professional qualifications and become a registered building services engineer. Studying in the BSE programme allowed me to participate in the "Scheme A" training programme, which helped me progress smoothly towards my goal.
