Protecting the University Community
The University always puts people’s safety and health first. Strictly adhering to new regulations and guidelines announced by the Hong Kong government, PolyU has been exercising precautionary measures to fulfil social distancing and prevent the spread of COVID-19 while striving to maintain essential operations and deliver quality education. At the onset of the pandemic, PolyU established the Task Force on the Delivery of Online Teaching and the Task Force on Response Actions for the Novel Coronavirus. Together, they were responsible for implementing special arrangements to safeguard the health of students and staff while ensuring students’ learning outcomes would not be compromised and bringing about a successful transition to online teaching.
During the reporting year, the University saw a smooth transition of its learning and teaching activities to the online mode; new hygiene measures and student supports were put in place; and more information relating to personal health and well-being was shared across the University community.
