Hong Kong has been ravaged by COVID-19 since 2020 and the University is working hard on various fronts to mitigate the negative impact of the evolving pandemic on our teaching and learning. PolyU Sports Teams won the Grand Slam in the 2021/22 Inter-Collegiate Sports Competitions. Organised by The University Sports Federation of Hong Kong, China (USFHK), the annual event is joined by 13 local institutes. Our Sports Teams are the consecutive winners of both the Yearly Men’s and Yearly Women’s Overall Championships since 2017/18 (the competitions in 2019/20 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
I believe students should have the courage to keep challenging themselves and exploring ways to learn. They should also do more reflection on themselves so as to build up their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. It is also important to be humble and thankful as we will then be more able to notice and grasp the precious learning opportunities around us.
