Over 110 students joined PolyU’s Belt and Road WIE programmes this summer to take up their internships in 19 countries, which include Austria, Brunei, Cambodia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Korea, New Zealand, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam. Our WIE participants grasped the chance to delve into the economic development of these countries, and to plan for their future contributions to the Belt and Road Initiatives using their professional knowledge as well as cultural competence gained through working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
PolyU also organised the Greater Bay Area WIE Programme with a view to enabling students to gain practical working experience relevant to their chosen profession, as well as to gain insight into the workplace cultures in the Greater Bay Area. This year, more than 20 students participated in this programme and worked in Shenzhen to strive for the success of the Area’s technological and commercial development with talents from across the world.
