The 38th Annual Performance titled "梁祝蝶戀·山海傾城" was proudly presented on 3 September by PolyU SAO Chinese Orchestra. The Annual Performance is a cherished tradition that unites our talented members and the PolyU community. In 2023, we celebrated our esteemed orchestra's 50th anniversary with a captivating programme of well-loved Chinese music that evoked emotion and cultural pride among more than 500 audience.

The evening's undeniable highlight was the Gaohu Concerto "Butterfly Lovers," a timeless masterpiece that transcended generations, touching the depths of the human soul. The enchanting tunes brought Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai's narrative to life as our amazing musicians gave their all to every note. Collaborating with well-known local composer Mr. Alfred Wong, we presented his renowned compositions, "Nocturne to the Victoria Harbour" and "Distant Mountains," which captured the essence of our surroundings with remarkable precision. These spectacular pieces created an ambience forging an unbreakable bond between performers and audience, transcending the confines of the concert hall.

The performance created a magical atmosphere, uniting participants in a symphony of energy and anticipation. Each crescendo and pause carried the captivated audience to a realm where time stood still, and emotions ran wild.
