Election of Student Members for Appointment to the PolyU Council
In accordance with Section 10(1)(f) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Ordinance (Cap. 1075), the composition of the University Council includes 2 members from the full-time students appointed by the Council :
i. One student is to be elected by and from the full-time undergraduate and sub-degree students (Category A); and
ii. Another student is to be elected by and from the full-time postgraduate students (Category B).
An election is to be conducted among the full-time students to return the aforesaid student members for appointment to Council for one calendar year provided that they remain eligible members of their respective Category.
Category A Student Member of PolyU Council 2024/2025 has been elected successfully. Following the unsuccessful Category B Student Member Election due to insufficient voting rate, a fresh round of election is held.

Nomination period: 7 – 20 November 2024

Nomination forms should be returned via email to council.elect@polyu.edu.hk.

Forms received after Hong Kong Time 23:59 of 20 November 2024 will not be accepted
Announcement of Nomination: 21 November 2024
- Nominations received will be announced through email from the Election Officer on 21 November 2024.
Period for a possible withdrawal of nomination(s): 22 – 28 November 2024
- Nominee(s) may withdraw his/her consent to nomination by emailing the Election Officer at council.elect@polyu.edu.hk before Hong Kong Time 23:59 on 28 November 2024.
Confirmation of the final list of nomination(s): 29 November 2024
Polling Period (7-day online via E-Ballot): 17 – 23 January 2025
- Each full-time taught-postgraduate and research students student (eligible elector) will be invited to access the electronic polling platform via connect email.
- Voting after the close of the polling period will not be accepted.
- Each eligible elector can only submit one ballot.
Announcement of results: 24 January 2025
- Election results will be announced on 24 January 2025 via email.
Period for lodging complaints: 25 – 26 January 2025
- Any complaint arising from the conduct of the election shall be lodged with the Election Officer during 25-26 January 2025 by email.
Announcement of final election results: 27 January 2025
- Confirmation of final election results will be announced on 27 January 2025 subject to no complaints being received.
