Student Support Scholarship (SSS)

Student Support Scholarship (SSS)  for Non-local Students

Student Support Scholarship (SSS) is established to subsidize the accommodation expenses of non-local students in full-time government-funded undergraduate degree programmes (excluding dual degree programmes) in their Year-2 study. Please find the details of the scholarship scheme as follows:

1. Information of Scholarship:

a. Amount: $30,000
b. No. of scholarship: around 130 per year
c. Scholarship will normally be released by two equal installments (i.e. HK$15,000 for each installment) in the last week of semester 1 and semester 2 respectively.
d. If successful applicants join outbound exchange programmes or overseas WIE, or defer their study in their Year-2, the amount of scholarship will be deducted on semester basis.

2. Criteria for SSS:

a. Year-1 non-local students in full-time government-funded undergraduate degree programmes (excluding dual degree programmes) are eligible to apply
b. Students who do not have hall offer in Year-2
c. Students will be prioritised by their CGPA (as of Year-1 , semester 2).
d. If SSS awardees are granted with hall offer after receiving the scholarship, they will be required to (partially) return the scholarship to the University.
e. In case of any dispute, the decision of the University is final.

3. Timeline:

a. Application period: from April 2024 to June 2024
b. Result announcement: Oct 2024
